As the son of former MPP, the late Doug Ford, political involvement and community service are in Councillor Rob Ford's blood. A believer in building better communities through community action, Rob is a supporter, volunteer and/or member of the Salvation Army's Red Shield Appeal, Terry Fox Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Etobicoke Chamber of Commerce, Toronto Board of Trade and the Toronto West Rotary Club. Rob also donates each year to numerous charitable organizations and events.
Rob’s passion in promoting the positive development of youth and his own experience in playing high school and university-level football is why Rob has spearheaded an initiative to bring back high school football. In 2002, Rob founded the now highly successful Eagles football program at Don Bosco Catholic Secondary School in North Etobicoke where he has remained the Head Coach of the Junior and Senior Teams. In order to ensure that all youth in the City of Toronto have an opportunity to play football, Rob established the Rob Ford Football Foundation. To date, his foundation has given out more than $100,000 in order to purchase equipment and establish football programs at high schools across the city, including Newtonbrook Secondary School, Don Bosco Catholic Secondary School, Sir Sanford Fleming Academy, Westview Centennial Secondary School, Forest Hill Collegiate, Eastern Commerce Collegiate, Lester B. Pearson Collegiate and C.W. Jefferys Collegiate.
As a principal of a successful family business, Deco Labels & Tags, employing over 200 people in North America, with plants in Etobicoke, Chicago and New Jersey, Rob brings a "bottom line and customer service" focus to the municipal sector. Rob is consistently on the record as voting to cut costs and bring efficiencies to the City which will result in direct savings to the Taxpayer. If you need assistance with a City issue, please do not hesitate to contact him or his office. The Taxpayers of Etobicoke North elected Rob to Council so do not forget that he works for you.
Both Rob and his wife Renata are lifelong residents of Etobicoke, where they reside with their daughter Stephanie and their son Douglas.
Please tune into AM 640 every Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m. to hear Councillor Ford discuss City issues.
